Tour of Historic St. Andrews

Our two-hour bus tour is an overview of St. Andrews past and present. Discover things you might otherwise have missed. This tour includes two stops:

Greenock Presbyterian Church: Dedicated in 1824. The most striking feature of the interior is a two-storey, hand-carved pulpit of local bird's eye maple and Honduras mahogany—built without a single nail!

Charlotte County Courthouse: A national historic site, restored, including the photographic portraits of King George III, Queen Charlotte and their 15 children.

Knowledgeable tour guides bring our town to life with facts and lore.

St. Andrews a la carte

Our two-hour tour (as above) plus your choice of one of the following (total tour time 3 hours):

Ross Memorial Museum: A beautiful house museum bequeathed to the town by Mr. & Mrs. Henry Phipps Ross.

Huntsman Marine Science Centre Aquarium: Join mother seal and her pups and learn more about Bay of Fundy marine life. The touch-tank is always a hit—hold marine life in the palm of your hand.

The Blockhouse: There was a time in history when we built three forts to protect ourselves from the colonists south of the border. This is the only survivor of the three.

Atlantic Salmon Federation Interpretative Centre: Want to learn more about the Atlantic Salmon and the growing aquaculture industry? This tour allows you to walk alongside the salmon and see them in their natural environment.

The Royal Walking Tour

H M S will take you on the Royal Tour of St. Andrews. All of the streets in the original town were named for King George III, Queen Charlotte and their 15 children. We'll visit the Charlotte County Courthouse where you will see their photographic portraits. We stroll through the town at a leisurely pace and introduce you to the homes and the families of our early settlers. Interiors of the Sheriff Andrews House, the Henry Phipps Ross and Sarah Juliet Ross Museum and the Greenock Presbyterian Church can be included.

The narrated tour includes a parting gift of A Guide to Historic St. Andrews.

Let's Get Quizzical

Or, how to really get to know us—a scavenger hunt.

A quiz? What gives? During the course of this very different activity, we expect you to consult with others (locals will be your best bet) and take a pleasurable journey that will increase your knowledge of St. Andrews, past and present. We know your mother told you not to talk to strangers, but do get to know us—we're not the least bit strange!

Every student needs to know the subject matter being researched. No problem: when you arrive at the starting point, we'll have your exam ready—“Enquiring Minds Want to Know”.

OK team... the clock's running; you've got ninety minutes!

The package includes: An Examiner who plays by the rules (the answer is either right or wrong—“almost” doesn't cut it), the exam and the chance at some terrific prizes (all of local origin).
